Service Description

Prerequisite: Dogs must have taken our Intermediate Obedience class, or equivalent with another trainer. Description: Want a dog who’s a total rockstar out in the real world? Whether you're grabbing coffee, hitting the farmers market, or strolling through downtown, this class is all about teaching your dog how to be calm, polite, and focused—no matter what’s going on around them. Each week we’ll meet in different locations around town so your dog can learn to handle new environments with confidence and good manners. Visits to dog-friendly shops, patios, and restaurants are part of the fun, giving you real-life practice where it counts most. Here’s what we’ll cover: Waiting calmly while you chat or enjoy time with friends. Loose-leash walking with turns, stops, and focus. Polite greetings—even when strangers have bags or snacks! Ignoring food, distractions, and tempting things on the sidewalk. Walking calmly in busy areas with stairs, elevators, and street crossings. Good manners entering and exiting buildings. Rock-solid stays and recalls in public spaces. Handling the sights, sounds, and surprises of the city with grace. This class is perfect for dog owners who want their pups to be well-behaved companions out in public—from brunch dates to hardware store runs. Bonus: This is a great prep course for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) and Urban CGC (CGCU) tests! If you're interested in taking the test, it can be scheduled separately by request. Best suited for dogs who already have basic obedience and are ready to take things to the next level—with real-world adventures and lots of tail wags along the way. Note: Each class may last up to 2 hours, depending on location. The class requires attendance at a restaurant for appetizers/dinner in order to meet the requirements of the class. Each person is responsible for their own restaurant bill. Minimum of 4 dogs, maximum of 8 dogs.
