Foundations for Agility
Service Description
Prerequisites: None This focuses on building the fundamental skills necessary for success in agility training. Dogs learn body awareness, confidence, focus, impulse control, and basic obstacle behaviors in a fun and supportive environment. Handlers develop effective communication, timing, and handling techniques while teaching their dogs to work enthusiastically as a team. Exercises may include flatwork, targeting, recalls, balance and coordination activities, tunnel introductions, low jumps, and foundation contact skills. This class is geared towards people/dogs with no prior agility experience and is suitable for dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages that can work comfortably around other dogs and people. Typical goals of a foundation agility class: • Improve focus and engagement with the handler • Build confidence and motivation • Develop body control and coordination • Introduce agility equipment safely • Teach basic directional and handling cues • Create a strong foundation for future agility training Note: This class will not include any contacts (dog walk, A-frame, teeter). This class is meant to work on foundation skills only. Goals of the class will be increased body awareness, handler focus, obstable focus, start line skills, and ground skills. Cancellation Policy
We understand that life brings many surprises to us all, and sometimes people must cancel their class reservation. Please help us continue to offer these wonderful classes, at the most affordable costs possible, by reading and adhering to our cancellation, refund, and transfer policies. What is the Cancellation Policy? Classes are canceled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 2 business days before the class starts. If SDDSC cancels a class the student will have the option to transfer to another class, as long as space is available, or receive a 100% refund. What is the Refund Policy? If a student chooses to withdraw from a class the refund policies are as follows: -There will be a full refund minus the service fee for withdrawals prior to the start date of the class. -No refunds will be made after the start of the class. If a student mistakenly enrolls in the wrong class, and there is no other class available for the student to transfer to: -There will be a full refund minus the service fee for withdrawals prior to the start date of the class. -No refunds will be made after the start of the class. Transfers: Transfers to a similarly priced class occur at no charge, as long as space is available. If no space is available, please refer to our refund policy above.
