Service Description
Prerequisites: None This a 6-week class focused entirely on developing beautiful, precise heeling for AKC obedience competition. Handlers and dogs will work through all the key elements of heeling, including smooth pace changes, clean left and right turns, about turns, automatic sits, prolonged engagement, and quick re-engagement after distractions. The class is suitable for both beginners and experienced teams: beginners and young dogs will use luring to build understanding and confidence, while more advanced teams will focus on marking and reinforcing desirable behaviors (with luring sometimes used to refine details). By the end of the course, each team will be able to put all elements of heeling together into a polished performance. Dogs should know sit and have a basic understanding of engagement with their handler. This class is ideal for anyone preparing to enter the obedience ring, or for handlers who have been working on heeling but feel there are still gaps or struggles in keeping all the pieces together Any dog (age 6 months and older) with any level of training is welcome. Class length: 6 weeks One dog per handler
Cancellation Policy
We understand that life brings many surprises to us all, and sometimes people must cancel their class reservation. Please help us continue to offer these wonderful classes, at the most affordable costs possible, by reading and adhering to our cancellation, refund, and transfer policies. What is the Cancellation Policy? Classes are canceled when enrollment minimums are not reached. Cancellations are determined no later than 2 business days before the class starts. If SDDSC cancels a class the student will have the option to transfer to another class, as long as space is available, or receive a 100% refund. What is the Refund Policy? If a student chooses to withdraw from a class the refund policies are as follows: -There will be a full refund minus the service fee for withdrawals prior to the start date of the class. -No refunds will be made after the start of the class. If a student mistakenly enrolls in the wrong class, and there is no other class available for the student to transfer to: -There will be a full refund minus the service fee for withdrawals prior to the start date of the class. -No refunds will be made after the start of the class. Transfers: Transfers to a similarly priced class occur at no charge, as long as space is available. If no space is available, please refer to our refund policy above.
