Keira is a long-time teacher who loves working with dogs just as much as she loves working with their humans. As much as she enjoys teaching, she enjoys learning too! Keira holds a Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D), as well as a proud graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy for dog trainers (KPA-CTP). Keira’s training approach stresses the “three C’s”: communication, compassion, and connection. She found dog sports after adopting her best friend, Frida Pawlo, who was a bundle of energy and anxiety after a traumatic start to life. They learned how to work together and work through some of Frida's challenges when they found their mutual love of trick training. Frida has reached the highest level of trick dog titles- Trick Dog Grand Champion, and is also a certified animal actor! They also like to dabble in other sports like nosework and obedience. While Frida gets her beauty rest, Keira runs Pet Project Dog Training, where she works with lots of dogs in North County, helping them overcome challenges like reactivity, separation anxiety, and aggression.
